This can be anything done to correct imperfections in the appearance of the mouth. Anyone who is unhappy with their smile can have it fixed. The upper teeth show, usually, only when smiling, while the lower teeth remain hidden. This is reversed when talking, with the upper teeth remaining hidden while the lower teeth show. The color, alignment, spacing as well as regularity of the teeth are the characteristics that give the overall appearance. Any of these can be repaired to give a stunning look to the mouth.
We offer a wide variety of cosmetic options. Some of these options are whitening, smile design, recontouring of the shape of the teeth, veneers, bonding, and all ceramic/porcelain crowns.
WHITENING This is the procedure of making teeth whiter, and therefore more attractive. Our office uses several methods: one-hour whitening, passive tray whitening, and professional strength whitening strips. In many instances, we recommend a combination of whitening treatments which will make your teeth stay whiter and brighter for a much longer period of time.
Our office promotes the Kor Whitening System. It's safe, effective, and fast; in comparison to months of wearing whitening strips or bulky trays. The Kor Whitening System begins with the fabrication of customized trays that are fabricated in southern California; where cosmetic procedures are highly embraced. The trays are then given to you with whitening syringes. A bead of the whitening material is placed intoeach of the wells of the teeth on the trays. The trays and gels are used for 2 weeks; primarily at bedtime. No daytime nuisance or garbled speech will be a part of our whitening process. Upon completion of custom-tray whitening (after the initial phase of surface whitening is accomplished), you will be ready for the one hour in-office intense whitening that completes the process. In actuality, 3 twenty minute applications of the safe but strong whitening gel will be applied to your teeth to get to the underlying stains of your teeth. In just over an hour, your teeth will be dramatically whiter. The convenience of the Kor Whitening System makes it the perfect choice for the busy individual. The Kor Whitening procedure is simple. It begins with a short preparation to isolate your lips and gums from your teeth. Teeth typically become at least six to ten shades whiter, sometimes more. You'll be amazed with the results. In most cases, teeth get even whiter the first few days after the procedure. Trays with gel are recommended afterward for maximum whitening and maintenance.
The tray method involves using the same custom-fabricated trays that have been made for the initial phase of Kor Whitening. The tray method will also enhance your previously whitened teeth by the one-hour method. Many of our patients then re-whiten using the same customized trays by placing a bead of gel into the trays and wearing them once/ month at bedtime. There is no toxicity to the frequency of whitening that is recommended for you.
Veneers are a dental procedure in which a covering is placed over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are usually only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. The procedure can be direct or indirect.
The direct technique usually involves placing composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This method is usually referred to as bonding.
The indirect technique usually involves two appointments because the veneers will be fabricated at a dental laboratory. At the first appointment the teeth are prepared to accept the veneers and impressions are taken. Additionally, shades of your teeth will be chosen. Notice the multiple use of the word, shade, as a life-like shaded tooth has various grades of different tones with the gum portion usually being slightly more yellow and the biting edge of a tooth may be so white, that it appears transparent. In about 2 weeks, the veneers are back from the laboratory and will bonded to the teeth. The laboratory fabricated veneers are usually made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are very aesthetic and durable. You can still eat "corn on the cob" with veneers.
The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less natural tooth material is removed, and the procedure is generally less uncomfortable. Veneers are recommended for teeth that have little tooth structure, may have spaces, or may be so discolored that they would not benefit from whitening.
By using a series of clear, removable aligners, Invisalign straightens your teeth with results you'll notice sooner than you think. The course of treatment involves changing aligners approximately every two weeks, moving your teeth into straighter position step by step, until you have a more beautiful smile. And unlike braces, these clear aligners can be removed while you eat and brush your teeth as usual.
Our office has been certified as an Invisalign provider and does not utilize the services of substandard laboratories.
